Studying and Practising in a community
The heart of the Spiritual Care Centre is a Buddhist community of approximately 30 people who will dedicate themselves completely to the study and practice of the Buddhist teachings."Sukhavati" offers practitioners of Tibetan Buddhism the possibility to live together in a spiritual community and to apply the teachings they study by offering spiritual support to people in crisis - for example due to old age or debilitating disease.
Elderly practitioners of Buddhism are especially welcome in the community; their needs will be particularly taken into consideration. "Sukhavati" will offer them a unique opportunity to spend the remaining years of their life deeping their spiritual practice - in retreat, prayer, meditation, study and practice. Elderly members of the community will be encouraged to stay active and independent, and to contribute to the activities of the centre in a meaningful way.
